- nontraditional adult students
- currently enrolled at UNC Charlotte
- demonstrates potential for academic success
Preference is given to first-degree undergraduate students and some of the scholarships have provisions to benefit persons with specific backgrounds. |

| APPLICATION GUIDELINES: |
|
| The application is available in the office or on-line between May 1st and June 1st each year. Interested students must complete the scholarship application packets (see details below) and bring the complete package to OASES by June 1st. |

| A complete application packet includes: |

- an OASES application form with signature and date.
- a typed essay addressed to the OASES Scholarship Selection Committee describing the applicant's personal philosophy and career goals.* (one page)
- an up-to-date resume, typed.
- two letters of recommendation. The letters need to identify the person's relationship to the student and evaluate the student's ability to achieve career goals. Letters should be typed on letterhead and dated with the current scholarship year.
- an official or unofficial transcript with the latest grades and current classes for the fall semester. New UNC Charlotte students must submit transcripts from other schools and colleges.*
- a copy of the Student Aid Report (SAR) for the current scholarship year from the Free Application For Federal Student Aid
